He is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

-Luke 6:48

A Firm Foundation

We want to firmly root our children in the Word of God, to give them a foundation which can not be shaken. We want to surround them with Godly influences, and raise them up ‘in the way they should go.’ (Proverbs 22:6) We want to show them the love of Christ every day, and teach them how to walk in his ways.

We want them to grow in intelligence and in character. We want for them to grow into the leaders and followers that God intends for them to be.

Dear Parents,

If you have not previously considered pursuing Christian education for your child, we would love to tell you about a few of the things that make Crowley’s Ridge Academy such a special place.

At CRA, we are a family. Your child is not just a number, but loved and prayed for.  In our classrooms, teachers openly model Christian principles, so your child can learn from an early age how to practice their faith in their daily life. You want to give your child every possible opportunity to grow into a successful adult and good citizen, and CRA is an invaluable resource to partner with you in that endeavor.

Crowley’s Ridge Academy strives to support the long-term development of the whole child, including spiritual, academic, physical, and social growth. CRA is committed to achieving a high academic standard that is grounded in biblical truth during these important foundation-setting years. This type of education prepares children to address issues from a Christian perspective and reinforces the values parents want to have instilled in their children. We maintain a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, competitive athletic programs, daily chapel, the arts, and much more.

As a private school, CRA can accept students from any district. We run daily bus routes in Jonesboro, Brookland, Paragould, and Walnut Ridge. We currently have students enrolled from several areas across Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about CRA, please reach out to us. We would love to connect with you and discuss what CRA has to offer your family.

Kindergarten Curriculum

CRA provides an education that is focused on the development of the whole child; mind, body, and spirit.

  • CRA uses the Connections curriculum to teach students reading. It is a proven and powerful system designed to help students become faster and better readers and spellers. Manipulatives provide a way for students to learn concepts in a developmentally appropriate, hands-on, experiential way. It is engaging for early learners and it increases their level of excitement when learning to read and write. Studies have shown that engaging multiple senses at the same time, like touch, sight, and sound, lead to better long-term retention of information. Plus, it makes learning fun!

***CRA also has a Certified Dyslexia Therapist on staff.

  • CRA uses the Saxon math curriculum, which uses repetition and logical progression to allow lessons to build upon each other. It breaks down difficult concepts into small bites and aids in understanding and retention.

Just like with our reading curriculum, CRA uses manipulatives to help students learn math in a more engaging, hands-on way.

  • In Kindergarten at CRA, students will learn the core skills of how to write their name, letters Aa-Zz, simple sentences, how to copy from the whiteboard or another paper, and how to write from memory.

  • At CRA, Kindergarten students begin to learn the foundational principles of the Bible. They learn by memory the Old and New Testament books, the 10 plagues, the 12 sons and 1 daughter of Jacob, the 12 apostles, and various memory verses.

Students will learn about the real people and stories in the Bible, as well as the lessons that we learn from them in their daily Bible classes. Our Bible curriculum covers the ENTIRE BIBLE (except Revelation) between Kindergarten and sixth grade.

Singing is a big part of our day! Students love to sing about Jesus, and singing helps with memorizing!

At CRA, we pray several times a day. Your child will be prayed with and for. Your child will learn through the years about the value and power of prayer!

We gather together once a day for chapel. During chapel, there is a lesson, singing, prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and announcements. Each class will be responsible for the chapel service a few times each year. It gives students the opportunity to practice leading in front of a crowd. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend chapel anytime!

  • Kindergarten students will also have music, art, library, computer, counseling, and physical education classes provided.
